Bermaline

"The Acme of Perfection,
it stands alone Inimitable"

Haddington was indeed home to this very popular make of bread.

Bermaline (a type of malted meal flour) bread was "a treat to eat".
There was also a bakery in Fairlie Street, Ibrox, in Glasgow.

Although Bermaline bread has long ceased production
the working mill/maltings still stands next to the Tyne
at the Victoria Bridge, albeit minus the ornate "spire".
