Wm Veitch (Clockmaker) Haddington

Can you provide any more information about William Veitch?

A Grandfather Clock by William Veitch of Haddington, dating to around 1760.

Unfortunately I don't have a "full length" photo of this clock.
It's described as follows.........

The Oak case has a long lockable door with shaped top and moulded edges.
The base, stands on a small plinth, and the clock stands at 7ft 4ins in height.

The hood has an architectural pediment and is surmounted with a Ball and Eagle Brass Finial.
The hood door is cross-banded with matching turned pillars at each side with brass capitals.
Above these are very intricate fretted sound holes to the corners,
a very unusual feature and a sign of good quality.

The silvered dial has scrolled engravings to the four corner spandrels and to either side
of the very elaborate makers signature in the top arch.

A floral design going surrounds the winding holes.
The dial has roman numerals for the hours with the minutes marked around the outer edge.

There is a subsidiary seconds dial and a calendar aperture.
 The clock has steel hands.

The 8 day rack striking movement chimes out the full hours on a single bell.
