These attractive vehicles emitted a very distinctive
high pitched transmission noise.
They are now considered design classics....
as, indeed, was Bobby.

Do you have any memories of Ewarts?

George Tait writes....  "As youngsters, a special treat was to take the bus to Dunbar to see a film.
On the return journey, the bus usually "broke down" at Stenton and then had to stop
in Garvald "to let the radiator cool down".
We believed the driver every time. His name was Davie .....!"

The main external difference between the two types of
OB Duple bodywork was the addition of small windows
above the main passenger ones.
These afforded a better view when on sight-seeing tours....hence the "Vista" appellation.

The interiors of the "Vistas" were usually finished
with a higher standard of seating & fittings.

Very basic controls were provided for the driver but most found these vehicles a pleasure to drive.

A typically sad end for many of these vehicles.
This one ended up in a field in Hertfordshire.

         OB's were exported world wide.
