A view of the War Memorial and Main Street in 1929.
The railings around the Memorial were later to be removed in a drive
to help the war effort during WWII.
This common practice is seen, nowadays, primarily as a symbolic morale booster.

Note the new electrically powered street lamp.
Electricity was first supplied to the village in December 1926.

The two large trees were adjacent to where the "McLennan's" van is parked

Hodgson's Bakery shop had become the Co-op the previous year.
