The Whiteadder river and valley...thought to be from 1942.

 This area, in the hills to the south of Gifford, was flooded with the completion of the dam in 1968
and the Whiteadder reservoir was officially opened in October 1969.

 It supplies water to East Lothian communities and also to Cockenzie power station.
