Fallen Lime Tree

High winds during the night of Hogmanay 2006 & New Years Day 2007 brought down one of the Lime trees in the Avenue.
Thankfully nobody was hurt. It might be inevitable, given the age of the trees, that over the coming years this
depletion of such a natural wonder could become a regular occurrence.

Is "inter-planting" of replacement trees, to be enjoyed by future generations, a realistic prospect?
