A History of Gifford
Players Established 2002
The Gifford Players were set up by Bett Morrison and a small committee
during 2002 to produce a Christmas pantomime
for the children in the village with the proceeds going to charity.
The production chosen was Aladdin, which involved a total of 90 people,
many of them children from the local school.
Such was the success of the show it was decided to produce a show yearly
which the monies
would be used to benefit the community and also selected charities.
The first meeting of the group was on 16th April 2003 and the first
committee was elected and named the Gifford Players.
The constitution for the group was drawn up and accepted by the members
on 18th August 2003.
Since 2003 the group has held an AGM in the village hall during May to
elect office bearers and new members.
