Gifford Gala Day was founded and
organised by the local branch
of the British Legion. It is now run by members drawn from various local committees. Gala Day is held on the third Sunday in June and is preceded
by
a week of evening activities.

THE
GOBLIN HA' CRICKET TEAM
In 1972 Max Muir
was challenged by Denis Stewart,
the proprietor of the
Nether Abbey
Hotel,
North Berwick,
to a cricket match.
The Nether Abbey side played
occasional evening games on the High School grounds, using
the school kit.
There was no tradition of cricket in Gifford but Max
himself was a keen cricketer and had for some time been
looking to start up cricket in the village.
