I took this picture in the winter of 1984 when
Garvald was "snowed in" for several days.
The electricity supply was also interrupted by the weather.
The vehicle on the left is a petrol engine
ex-WWII Mack, and a Leyland is seen on the right.
The Mack, driven by Geordie Hobbs of Gifford, was a most impressive sight
although it's reputed fuel consumption of 8mpg (going down to 3mpg "under
load")
was less impressive.
