This image is from a picture postcard dated October 1910.

It's from (and to) relatives of mine, but their descendants can shed no light on the picture subject.

Strangely, perhaps, the message on the back of the card makes no mention of the scene.

It might be an army parade but given the age of some of the young lads at the rear it may well be
an organisation like the Boys Brigade.

Looking at the smart attire of the crowd it would be an educated guess to say it was a Sunday.

It's taken looking west up Haddington High St.
The George Hotel is on the right.
